The vocational school in Kildare opened in 1960. It offers co-ed second level education to pupils from Kildare and the surrounding areas. It provides a full range of academic and practical subjects including Irish, English, maths, business studies, Spanish, science, history, biology, technology, technical graphics, technical drawing, metalwork and computer studies.
Sports include Gaelic football, soccer, hurling and basketball.
Kildare college of further studies provides post leaving certificate course in secretarial tourism & heritage.
The college places particular emphasis on computer applications in all plc courses. Job placement record is excellent; all courses are ncva certified. Further details are available from the college.

Scoil na mainistreach De la Salle is a primary school catering for boys from 1ST to 6TH classes inclusive. Apart from having an excellent reputation academically, the school has a great sporting tradition catering for practically every sport. The school has had numerous successes in Gaelic football, soccer, and hurling, cross country running, basketball and badminton. There is also a sports field with three pitches for the pupils use.
The library and computer room facilities are second to none and will undoubtedly benefit pupils in today's world where information and communication technology is so important.

St Joseph's academy is a De la Salle post primary school for boys in Kildare town and its vicinity. The school developed after the arrival of the order to Kildare in 1884 and is now a modern building with excellent facilities. Its board of management represents trustees, teachers and parents. The school has a vibrant parent council and student council. Past pupils are active in supporting career guidance and other initiatives.
